Keep TGForum A Safe Place

Since we removed the fee for access to TGForum, registrations have skyrocketed. We are approaching 5000 registered users. Inevitably, we have attracted some TG admirers and tranny-chasers. My philosophy has always been to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and allow anyone to register for TGForum. However, I also believe that TGForum must be a safe place for TG people to congregate.

I will not tolerate trolling or harassment, nor will I tolerate obscene photos. I need all of the members of TGForum to be vigilant and report immediately if they have been harassed by anyone or if they see obscene photos in a gallery. If you make a report, you must be specific about the incident. I have enabled a token that will allow you to mark a forum post or gallery for review by Angela or myself. Follow up with an email to either of us.

On review, if we feel that the report is justified, the offender will be banned permanently from TGForum, no exceptions. Help us keep TGForum safe for all TG people.

I am a writer, editor and educator. I was one of the 5 founders of the Renaissance Transgender Education Assoc., and have served on the boards of IFGE and AEGIS. I am most proud of "Coping With Crossdressing: Tools and Strategies for Couples in Committed Relationships". I was an early TG political activist and one of the co-founders of GenderPAC. I wrote and published a Bill of Gender Rights in December 1990. I've appeared on several television shows and in the movie "All Dressed Up And Nowhere To Go". I published "LadyLike" magazine for 18 years, as well as "EnFemme" magazine and "International TranScript". (JoAnn passed away in June of 2013.)

  1. I just posted a few photos on Flickr set at “public” as something of an experiment, and already have gotten a few ‘disquieting’ responses. I’m glad there are higher standards here on TG Forum.

Thanks JoAnn…I’m a former member of the forum back in the pay-subscription days just finding it again. Nice to be back 🙂

I am talking more about being harassed or propositioned in the discussion boards or in chat. I reviewed the entire user list last night and some of the usernames are pretty explicit. However, as long as someone behaves they are welcome here.

JoAnn, tgforum is an outstanding web site. Unfortunately because of public image shaped by fanatical religious groups, badly written screen plays and other cultural poisons many have a twisted idea of transgender and related behavior. They may want to treat this as an XXX site. However, sometimes a contribution is simply bad taste. The problem is that often bad taste is a matter of opinion. I have to admit to being somewhat prudish and very private so I probably would find some pictures and article somewhat discomforting that most of the members would not.
For example, I’m uncomfortable with parody aimed at women.
But, I don’t have to look at it
