Angela Gardner

We’ve got so much stuff for this Monday Edition that it’s a good thing we are a cyber publication with all the room on The Web. We start off with a large and juicy helping of The Week In Transgenderism by our News Editor Ronnie Rho. Ronnie has dug up tons of stories with TG themes. She’s got bi-gendered fish in Georgia, progress in TG rights, erosion of TG rights, a drag show in a church and a whole lot more. To stay tuned into the TG scene — don’t miss your TWIT!

Whose shoes?

Dina Amberle is with us today presenting a new edition of her Dina’s Diner column. Dina has been gathering bits to discuss in her Amberleonian manner and they’re ready to go. She discusses the role of secretaries in our sexual fantasies, and how the job title has changed and the position may be going away. So sad. She has thoughts on an empowerment event called Slut Walk, observations on the increasing height of high heelsĀ  and she wraps it all up with Thai street walkers. What can ya say? Don’t miss the latest dish at Dina’s Diner!

Lexy Tranner — Weekend CD, the clever creation of Miss Kyra Kelly, is with us today. Lexy always manages to comment on something we all have done, or that someone we know has done, and she does it in a manner that gets a chuckle or an outright, unladylike gaffaw. See what Lexy is taking aim at this week.

Author, musician and activist Christine Beatty is back with us! She has finished her book and has returned to TGF with periodic contributions. This week Christine writes about the boogeyman of ridicule. No one wants to be embarrassed and often that fear is enough to stop a TG from getting out of their closet for years. Christine’s thesis is simple — get over those fears and start having fun! It’s not just a pep talk, it’s some sound advice on how to deal with small minded bullies. Don’t miss Transcending Ridicule.

Hebe Dotson

The Empire Conference took place May 4-7 in Albany, New York. We sent intrepid TGForum reporter Hebe “Scoop” Dotson to check it out. Hebe has returned, recovered, and filed a report. We call it The 2011 Empire Conference.

We wrap up the offering for today with a short piece of news and opinion from me. ABC TV has ordered a pilot for a show called Work It. It could be the Bosom Buddies of the early 21st century. Or not. See what I think of the idea of a crossdressing comedy in Prime Time and read my op-ed.

That’s it for this week! Keep in mind that you can make comments on anything we publish by using the comment boxes below the stories. And, you can set up a custom image that’s tied to your email address. It’s called a Gravatar. You can see my Gravatar whenever I post a comment. To get your Gravatar just visit the Gravatar website and create a Gravatar account, upload your photo or graphic and link it to the email address you use on TGF. The picture you’ve chosen will automatically appear when you comment, instead of the cute little generated graphic.
