Makeup. It’s powerful stuff. It can make a plain woman look like a movie star and a beautiful woman look like a goddess. It can even make a man look like a beautiful, glamorous woman. Which brings us to the rise of “beauty boys”, male makeup artists, many in their teens, using their own faces to demonstrate makeup techniques. Today we feature several of these men in makeup as our photo feature.

James Charles was doing makeup in his hometown when he launched a YouTube channel. in 2016, at the age of 17, Charles became the first male brand ambassador for Cover Girl cosmetics. his YouTube channel then attracted millions of views. And his bank account attracted millions of dollars. In 2020, he purchased a $7 million mansion in Los Angeles. Charles is openly gay and while he has said he’s happy being a boy he has appeared in public in full feminine attire and maintains a full set of manicured fake nails at all times. Charles calls his YouTube followers “sisters”. Could he be one of our sisters?
