A bit of a quandry…
My friend Alicia wants me to go to Chicago this June to go to Be-All. The Mrs. and I went in 2004, and had a really, really good time. We hung out with Alicia and her SO, and met Helen Boyd, and the infamous Betty, along with a lot of people I had known online, but had never met.Â
We also saw some friends from Nebraska we hadn’t seen in a while. Generally, I’ve had a good time at conferences. There’s much partying, lots of socializing, and a bit of shopping and other debauchery. (I got my ears pierced while in Chi-town for the Be-All.)
But, here’s the problem. Be-All is held in June. That’s when a lot of cities, like Cincinnati have their Pride celebrations. (And you know how I am when it comes to supporting Pride.)  It’s necessary. Appearances by transgendered folk at Pride will help us gain a little more acceptance among the G’s and the L’s and the B’s. And that’s a first step into solidifying the entire GLBT community as we all fight for acceptance and equal rights.
So, do I go to Be-All, and party with friends? Or do I put my money where my mouth is, and stay home to attend Pride? Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Hey Ronnie,
Be All is June 6 – 11. If I remember right, the Cincy pride parade is on Sunday, so you COULD still go to Be All, leave to return (very!) late Saturday or early Sunday, and still make the Cincy Pride Parade on Sunday afternoon. Just a thought, hon.
Hoping all is well,
Jenny “up the road in Dayton”
PS – I’m thinking about going to Be All myself Friday and Saturday. If you happen to be looking for a roommate for a couple of days, well, you know where (and how) to find me! 😉 Take care and stay safe.
