As we mentioned in the news, the state of Texas has started a policy of not changing the gender markers on drivers’ licenses. For not caring that your identification documents do not reflect the lives that some of your people live, and for choosing which people will be deliberately excluded from having identification documents which reflect them, the politicians who make policy for the Teas Department of Health get a TWIT. The Texas Tribune has this story.

The Senate Leadership Fund, a conservative super PAC. has released new ads which target Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania. The topic of the ads is these senators’ support for transgender people. For supporting discrimination, and for avoiding the issues that really impact the lives of most people while instead building up something unimportant in the lives that they live, the Senate Leadership Fund gets a TWIT. This story comes from Erin Reed.

Once again, a group of conservatives on social media are pushing the theory that a mass shooter is transgender. In this case, the shooter is Colt Gray, who killed two students and two teachers at a school in Georgia. The first problem with this theory is that Colt Grey has written some very anti-transgender statements to the very same Discord account on which he wrote that he admitted that he was planning a mass shooting. The other problem is that one of the images which were used to prove his is transgender is not a photo of Colt Gray, but rather is an edited image of a Fortnite player. For using fake data to “prove” that a mass murderer is transgender, the people behind this story get a TWIT, which they share with those who spread the story despite it having already been debunked. The Daily Dot has this story.

We have mentioned before that the conservative talking point which says that Minnesota law has “legalized kidnapping” of transgender children in the event that a parent does not want to allow that child to transition genders. An analysis of this law shows that this is not true, and there are no known cases of this being shown to be true, but even so, Senator J.D. Vance repeated this lie this week at a Turning Points USA event. He said of his counterpart, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, “He wants the government to steal your children from you if your don’t agree with Tim Walz’s values.” For repeating a lie, J.D. Vance gets a TWIT. This story comes from The Advocate.

An article in Them details how a second Trump administration would roll back transgender rights. According to the article, they would pass a nationwide ban on gender-affirming medical care for minors, as well as banning teachers from using a student’s chosen name and the pronoun that they identify with. For using the law to promote discrimination and second-class citizenship, the Trump campaign gets a TWIT.

As we mentioned in the news, Former President Donald trump made up a lot of nonsense about how schools decide which students will get “an operation,” referring to gender-affirming surgery. He then said, “And many of these childs [sic] 15 years later, say, “What the hell happened? Who did this to me? They say, who did this to me? It’s incredible.” It is incredible, because none of it happens. Schools do not have any part in deciding who gets to transition, or who gets gender-affirming surgery. Also, the regret rate among those who do transition is much lower than he suggests, even after the fifteen years that he says that it takes for them to develop that regret. For sheer fabrication of something totally removed from reality (“That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.”), and for playing on people’s fears, Former President Donald Trump gets a TWIT. CNN has a fact-check of these claims, which shows them to be false.
