California Governor Gavin Newsom again made remarks which indicate that he does not support transgender athletes being allowed to play against women and girls. “[W]hen it comes to sport’s, that’s impacting other people’s rights. It’s different. I agree on the issue of fairness in that respect.” For rushing to say that it is unfair to allow transgender athletes to compete without offering any evidence that they have an unfair advantage, Governor Gavin Newsom gets a TWIT, This story comes from Them.

As we mentioned in the news, Glamour UK included nine transgender women among their Women Of The Year, and featured them on the cover wearing “Protect The Dolls” t-shirts. J.K. Rowling responded on X, “I grew up in an era when mainstream women’s magazines told girls they needed to be thinner and prettier, Now mainstream women’s magazines tell girls that men are better women than they are,” Someone using Glamour UK’s X account replied to her, “Better luck next year, Jo x.” For not passing up an opportunity to show her transphobia to one and all, J.K. Rowling gets a TWIT. This story comes from PinkNews.

The Telegraph had a story this week about the BBC allowing workers to work from home if they have concerns about the broadcaster’s policy allowing transgender women to use the ladies’ restroom. However, PinkNews contacted the BBC, and found that they do not have a specific policy regarding what workers may do if they have concerns about which restroom transgender people may use. For not prominently mentioning the lack of a specific policy in their story, the Telegraph gets a TWIT.

Although there are emergency funds which can be used to keep food assistance going during the government shutdown, President Trump and the Republicans have chosen to not use those funds for food assistance. It is a tactic which they hope will bring the Democrats to the table, to negotiate a settlement to the government shutdown. However, the website of the United States Department of Agriculture claims that the reason why SNAP has run out of money is because of transgender people and immigrants. For looking around and finding someone else to blame, and especially for blaming the most vulnerable groups you can find, whoever wrote this on the USDA website gets a TWIT. Erin Reed at Erin In The Morning has this story.

Although the Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine has recently lost one of its best sources for denying the views espoused by mainstream medical organizations, Washington State University has given the group credentials to teach in their continuing medical education program. For giving credentials to people whose message is contrary to the peer-reviewed research behind the message of mainstream medical associations, Washington State University gets a TWIT. This story comes from Erin In The Morning.

Elon Musk was embarrassed when his AI program, Grok, criticized his views on gender-affirming medicine. He tweaked the program, feeding it more alternative views, until it started to agree with him. Now, he has released Grokipedia, an AI-generated alternative to Wikipedia. PinkNews reports that Grokipedia’s section on gender-affirming medicine is a “dumpster fire.” More specifically, it contains references to the theory of “social contagion” causing people to have gender dysphoria, and features misinformation from the Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine, which pushes a view that is contrary to both mainstream medical organizations and peer-reviewed research. It claims that Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera joined LGB people in the events of Stonewall, rather than saying that they led the events, and claims that transgender people did not exist before the Institute for Sexual Science was founded in 1919. For rewriting history and misstating medical research, Grokipedia gets a TWIT.
