The Department of Health and Human Services has deleted reports on the mental health of transgender students in Utah, whose results used to be on the department’s web pages. The reports which look at the mental health of cisgender youth were not deleted. For specifically removing studies which look at transgender people, in a way which starts with the conclusion that there is nothing wrong with us that needs to be examined, the Department of Health and Human Services in the Trump administration gets a TWIT. Right-wing pundit Oli London misgendered Vivian Jenn Wilson as “Elon Musk’s estranged Transgender son,” and used male pronouns for Ms. Wilson on social media. For deliberately misgendering Vivian Jenna Wilson, Oli London gets a TWIT. This story comes from PinkNews.
Last November, the Republicans got a slight majority in the Michigan state House of Representatives, while the Democrats still control the state Senate and hold the office of governor. It did not take that long for the Republicans to introduce a bill to forbid transgender children from getting gender-affirming medical care. For wasting the time of the legislature on a matter which will never get any traction in the state Senate, and which the governor would certainly veto, the sponsors of this bill get a TWIT. A new rumour circulating in right-wing circles says that Malia Obama, the daughter of the former president, has come out as transgender. Now, this particular rumour is so far-fetched that few people have repeated it so far, but the fact that it is even repeated by anyone is laughable. Anyone who repeated this claim without evidence gets a TWIT. PinkNews has this story.
The Department of Justice is reportedly about to stop noticing transgender people in its collection of data on crimes. We will be just a part of the general population from now on. This is another extension of President Trump’s executive order which states that the government will only recognize two genders. For thinking that not noticing something makes it go away, and for thinking that there is nothing to notice here, the Justice Department gets a TWIT, and shares it with President Trump.
