As we mentioned in the news, the Department of Education announced this week that it was pulling out of agreements with five school districts, which protected the rights of transgender students. For walking away from agreements made by previous administrations, without realizing that this becomes the groundwork for the next administration to walk away from any agreements that the Trump administration may make, the Department of Justice gets a TWIT. This story comes from Them.
An article in the Fuller Project shows that online comments still seem to blame mothers of transgender children for their child’s gender identity. For reaching back into the age when transgender females greatly outnumbered transgender males, and for assigning blame for something which should have no blame, the people who blame mothers for their child’s gender identity get a TWIT.
Erick Erickson, a right-wing broadcaster who often has a very Christian slant to his views, defended President Trump’s message threatening war crimes (the destruction of civilian infrastructure), plus profanity and the phrase, “Praise be to Allah,” in a social media message on Easter. He said he would rather have that message than “Trans Recognition Day or whatever on Easter.” He has blamed President Biden for the coincidence that Transgender Day of Visibility fell on Easter, even though President Biden had nothing to do with scheduling either event, and even though Easter is the movable feast which happened to fall on the same day as Transgender Day of Visibility. For bringing up something which had nothing to do with the social media post of President Trump, and for blaming President Biden for something which he had nothing to do with, Erick Erickson gets a TWIT. LGBTQ Nation has this story.
In response to President Trump’s social media post threatening Iran, Representative Sarah McBride wrote, “The president doesn’t get to threaten genocide as a negotiating tactic.” In reply to that, Representative Nancy Mace said to Representative McBride, “You don’t get to call yourself a woman but you still do it.” For appointing herself the gender police without any credentials, and for rushing to attack a fellow member of Congress with an ad hominem attack, Representative Nancy Mace gets another TWIT. This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.
