Thanks for the advice! It’s hard to weigh the pros and cons of if I come out, because while I’ll definitely be more comfortable, I really don’t want to put up with her bigotry. She’s definitely the kind of person who would call me a tr*nny while pretending like she understands. But I’ll definitely start looking for something to wear to experiment. At the very least I should be able to present at my best friend’s house once I explain the situation to his parents, but first I need to build up the courage to go to the store and buy what I need in order to present. I already have an appointment with my Psychologist to talk it over.

Hi I’m new here. My name is Shauna and I’m an 18 year old trans woman pre everything. I’m not even really out to everyone I know yet. My friends and my mom know, and they’re super supportive and accepting but my family has recently had another family move in and the mom is very narrow minded when it comes to gender roles. I don’t think she’s necessarily transphobic but she’s definitely not someone I want to be living with while I try to transition. I’m here looking for advice on how I could experiment with how I look. I’m already starting to grow out my hair, I started shaving more frequently and I even shaved my arms, but I’d like to try actually dressing as a woman sometime soon. Any tips on what I could try?
