Hello, everyone. I am a 65-year-old transgender female who transitioned about 2.5 years ago. (Better late than never.) Last summer, I was also diagnosed as being on the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum, once known as Asperger’s Syndrome.
My transgender advisor/therapist was aware of the connection between transgenderism and autism. She recommended that I be evaluated for autism. It turns out she was right.
I have read a couple of books from people who are both transgender and autistic. Now I am looking for Internet-based support groups for people in this situation. I have not found anything yet, so I would like to ask the community if they know of any such groups.
