The Supreme Court lifted an order from a district court in Massachusetts, which had forced the State Department to issue passports in the applicant’s preferred gender or in a non-binary X, if requested. Without hearing oral arguments, the Supreme Court overturned the stay on enforcing the policy, which stems from President Trump’s executive order recognizing only two sexes, as assigned at birth. In Virginia, Republican candidate for governor Winsome Earle-Sears ran some ads with very anti-transgender messages, the kind that President Trump thinks got him elected last year. SEGM is known to oppose the research which the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Paediatrics, the American Psychological Association, and other medical groups have used to justify endorsing gender-affirming care.
