Southern Comfort Update
It’s getting to that time of year when you need to be thinking about registering for the Southern Comfort Conference. The conference is almost exactly four months away, and this year it is going to be the social event of the year for the transgender community!
The conference will be celebrating its 25th year. It will be held on September 29th through October 4, at its new home, the beautiful Bonaventure Resort and Spa in Weston, Florida.
I think that we have put together a spectacular itinerary for you this year. As always, we will be hosting the premier doctors, surgeons, therapists, and other professionals that provide service and support to the community. They will be doing over a hundred seminars geared to giving our attendees the most current information to help them better understand their issues and improve their lives.
We are pleased to announce that Jazz Jennings will be doing a keynote and a book signing for I am Jazz. She is a national spokesperson for Clean & Clear, and is also filming an 11 part series for the TLC network entitled All That Jazz.
We will also be host a showing of a few episodes of the hit Amazon Prime show Transparent. The showings will be presented by one of the show’s producers and consultant Zachary Drucker. She is a well know artist and spokeswomen for the trans community. There will also be a “surprise” guest.
Our activity director Miranda has put together some great optional “outings” to include a trip to the original Lipps restaurant, mall trips, and the very popular Princess Day. Princess Day takes registered attendees out shopping, to a nail salon, and to lunch. It sells out very fast so register now before you miss out.
There will be onsite entertainment each night and I am sure that the hotels tiki bar will be busy serving drinks and snacks till late. The bar is at the end of one of the nicest pools around. With its waterfalls and hot tub, it is sure to be a gathering place for fun and games.
There is a 40,000 sq./ft. five star spa that will be available to all attendees. Our registered attendees will receive a substantial discount for any service they may choose. The management there is super friendly and has assured us that we are “totally welcome” to use all their facilities.
These are just a few of the highlights for SCC 2015. We are looking forward to seeing you at the conference this year! We’ll post more as events become confirmed. You’re also invited to keep up to date by joining our Facebook group.
To register, please go to our website. Also please be sure to book your room as the hotel has a limited amount of rooms. Waiting to “book” could lead to be rooming at the “overflow hotel.”
