Angela Gardner

Hi loyal readers! Today is the first of August already and we’re sweltering here on the east coast. Not as bad as last week but still way too warm for pantyhose and a hot wig. Of course that won’t stop me. That’s why they make cars with air conditioning.

Today we begin with our long running news feature The Week In Transgenderism. I have personally spent hours relentlessly entering search words into Google and Bing to dig out every story on the Web that has even a hint of TGness about it. That said I must add that this week trans news is a bit slow. But, even though it’s not a massive tome it’s still a good amount of interesting TG stuff. There’s the pregnant FtM who shouldn’t have been able to get pregnant, the Virgin Queen contest  in New Orleans for young straight guys, the crossdressing artist in England who is curating a museum show, an article about transgender actresses in The New York Times, and more. To keep up to date on what’s going on in the TG world don’t miss your TWIT!

The Artist D joins us this week with her commentary on fashion for the month. This month her topic is corsetry. We are often fascinated with the traditional hourglass figure and look for ways to achieve that look without resorting to such distasteful things as diet and exercise. And even if we do starve and workout we still usually need a bit of pulling in around the mid section to get the perfect femme look. D gives you the whole story on corsets and of course she entertains at the same time. Check out A Frock Made of Corrugated Iron.

Pamela DeGroff has a fresh Perpetual Change column for us this week. Pam has found a jazz fusion musician from Singapore who is a devoted artist and is also a transgender person. Her name is Catrina Daimon Lee and she has been making music that pushes the edge of music theory for many years. And she’s never had a live gig because she won’t compromise her principles to play easy pop stuff. There are links in the article to her music and you can buy her stuff online if you like way out jazz that explores new territory. Meet Catrina Daimon Lee in Perpetual Change.

That’s the new content for this Monday. Please enjoy responsibly.
