Ice Cream
Sometimes (actually most of the time), at the end of the day there’s nothing like a cup/bowl of ice cream. I could sit down and eat a half gallon of the creamy desert with no problem. I don’t know too many people who don’t enjoy the cold creamy feeling of your favorite flavor running down the back of your throat. For those of you that are Lactose intolerant there are many really good substitutes made from soy or rice products, but right now I’m talking, Ice Cream.
When I was much younger there was an ice cream restaurant called, Greenwood Dairies and they had an ice cream dish called, The Pigs Dinner. You could pick up to six flavors and it came in what looked like a pig’s trough. With bananas, three toppings and whipped cream, oh my! It was huge! If you actually finished it, you got a button saying, “I was a pig at Greenwood Dairies.” I have two buttons. Burp! LOL!
On the other side of town there was a place called Arthurs. They had a desert called the Sampler which was a plastic ice cube tray with a different flavor in each cube space. They had 48 flavors to chose from, too. My head hurts! (Brain freeze!)
Nowadays, I still like a couple different flavors together, to make the event even more exciting like Brusters chocolate, almond, coconut with peanut butter puddles. OMG! That gives me sweet dreams and sooo mmmmmmuch more. LOL! Or Hagan Daz chocolate with almonds and a caramel cone. Oooooo take me now! When I’m in a hurry and no time for actual shopping, I just stop at the 7-11 and pick up Breyer’s (Neapolitan) your basic vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, and with some trail mix on top WOW! Mouth party! He, he….
I’m just collecting my thoughts for the week ahead and enjoying my cup of ice cream. Anyone have a favorite brand or flavor combo they want to share?
Love and respect,
Rachel
