Empire Conference issues call for presenters
Organizers are accepting proposals for presentations and workshops for the 2012 Empire Conference April 12-14, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in historic downtown Albany, New York. The conference theme is TransGenerations—Transgender Issues of Youth and the Elderly and All In Between.
In addition to presentations relating to directly to the theme, the organizers are especially looking for programs that examine ways of changing the perception of transgender through education, advocacy and lobbying. Almost any topic that addresses the concerns of transsexuals, crossdressers, partners of trans-people, trans couples, and children of trans-people are welcomed.
They are also interested in providing more information on transgender health, medicine, and legal issues. And sessions focused on trans-people in relationships are desired for those attending either with or without their partners.
The needs and concerns of the Female-to-Male community will also be addressed. The conference hopes to have a full program track for FtMs.
Proposals that offer a new slant on creating more unity in the Transgender Community — in both the political and social realms are needed. New ideas and new faces are particularly welcome at the Empire Conference.
Proposals for presentations must be made no later than November 15, 2011 to insure space and schedule availability. You may use the conference’s online Program Proposal Form to submit your proposal.
Be sure your proposal includes a brief biography, a brief program description, any A/V needs, as well as contact information.
Presenters are offered a complimentary conference day.
If you have questions regarding your proposal, contact Alison Laing, Program Chair, at P.O. Box 473, Portsmouth, RI 02871-0475.
