The stars of female impersonation in the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s were all about glamor and beauty. Only an act devoted to comedy would over-do things and exaggerate feminine characteristics in search of a laugh from the audience. The exotic and beautiful female impersonators worked to be indistinguishable from the actresses and singers they portrayed. Thanks to Robbie Ross sending us several photos of classic female impersonators (through David de Alba) we decided to dig up a few more photos and present some of the classy, classic stars of days gone by.

Click on the first photo of David de Alba as “Boy-Chic” and it will open in a larger size over the page. Use the >> navigation arrows to move through the photos. When you’re done viewing the photos click on the photo and the page will reappear. (Some photos may take a longer time to load. Be patient.)
