I am a retired trans woman who lives in florida.
Last year around this time we ran a post from Josy C. Josy had always felt more feminine than masculine. From early childhood she was more interested in feminine pursuits, and a bout with polio made sure that she could not engage in the more manly sports. After her retirement she and her spouse moved to Florida where she found a new beginning. Then at the beginning of this year more changes began and launched Josy into new adventures. Josy is proud of the way that transgenderism has been brought out of the shadows and made visible to the general public. She thanks trans icons like Jazz Jennings and Caitlyn Jenner for their work in making people aware that trans people are here and we aren’t going away. But she has concerns that some in the community don’t wish to do their part to further acceptance of trans people.

For some reason many religious people, who claim to follow God’s laws, find that judging LGBT people is just fine. Even though it says in the Bible, “judge not….” And most of the time they judge us to be sinners. That leads to LGBT people who believe in God being abused and mistreated by their fellow Christians. They are tossed out of their congregations and must wander in the wilderness trying to find the promised land. Today Josy C blogs about her experience with religion.
