Window dressing to the soul

icu.JPGWe’ve all heard the cliche about the eyes being window dressing for the soul.  And the thing about cliches is, they’re often true.  Else they wouldn’t have become cliche in the first place.

So, let’s dress that window up a bit.  One of the most dramatic changes you can make to your appearance, I believe, is with false eyelashes.

Oh, now before you pooh-pooh the idea, falsies don’t have to be these enormous 3-inch long drag queen lashes.  (Though that’s what I prefer.)  Most styles are realisitically short, and essentially add thickness to your lashes.

Mascara runs, and smears and leads to raccoon eyes.  Falsies are either on, or off.  Plus, you can use them several times.

Granted, they’re not always easy to put on, but they’re also not as difficult as you might think.  Set some practice time aside for yourself, run down to the drugstore or beauty supply store and  shell out the $5 a good set will cost.  And right after Halloween, stock up when they all go on sale!

Most men have very long thick eyelashes so there is little need for them. I for one have such long thick lashes that if I were to wear false eyelashes, I really would look goofy

  3. I used to wear false eyelashes, the main thing to remember is that the glue loses it’s adhesive strength over time. I was at an elegant dinner with my false eyelashed on when one fell into the salad. I still haven’t gotten over that embarrassment.
