As we mentioned in the News, several TERFs, including J.K. Rowling, have proclaimed that cisgender female boxers Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan are transgender. The two did fail some sort of “gender test” last year, although the Olympics have not specified what the test entailed or what failing it means. The International Olympic Committee has said, “The Algerian boxer was born female, registered female, lived her life as a female, boxed as a female, and has a female passport.” Her first-round opponent did quit the match after 46 seconds, saying she had never been hit like that, and the TERFs started saying that she is transgender, or “a man.” For earning an Olympic medal in jumping to a conclusion, and for not caring what the evidence really is or what it means, those who rushed to proclaim the two boxers transgender or male get a Twit Award. Variety has this story.

According to LGBTQ Nation, one of the loudmouths who rushed to declare Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting as “male” was J.K. Rowling, who took to X to make her accusations. For rushing to proclaim her prejudices without waiting to hear the details or the science that those details evoke, J.K. Rowling gets another Twit Award.

Also at the Olympics, several conservative people were objecting to “drag queens” in the opening ceremony, which they interpreted as a sacrilegious depiction of the Last Supper. In fact, the opening ceremony was a depiction of a Bacchanalia, a party dedicated to the Greek pagan gods. After all, the Olympics did originate in ancient Greece, although their history is not uninterrupted. Given the setting in ancient Greece, drag queens are not out of place historically. For rushing to condemn something without learning what it is, critics of the Olympics opening ceremony get a Twit Award. LGBTQ Nation has this story.

An article in Catholic World Report argues that a “transgender identity” is not possible The author obviously is unaware of the existence of intersex people, or of Differences in Sexual Development. For expressing a grade-school knowledge of biology as if it is the ultimate science, and for being satisfied with poor research, the author of this article gets a Twit Award.

Fox News host Jesse Watters tried to make fun of the “White Dudes for Harris” Zoom meeting. He got so full of himself that he proclaimed that men who vote for a woman becomes a woman. He is quoted as saying, “I heard the scientists say the other day that when a man votes for a woman, he actually transitions into a woman.” Of course, no scientists were named to connect to this quote, but that hardly matters on Fox News. For making up nonsense and attributing it to scientists without specifying which scientist, Jesse Watters gets a Twit Award. This story comes from The Advocate, which points out in its story that Dana Perino and Jeanine Pirro quickly expressed their disagreement with the statement by Mr. Watters.
