We mentioned in the News that a federal judge in Mississippi used the recent decision to overturn the Chevron deference to expand the number of states which are unlikely to have to follow the Biden Administration’s new rules on transgender students. A federal judge in Kansas delivered a similar decision, though it was limited to the state of Kansas. Judge John Broomes even said in his decision,”Given. . .the evidence before the court, it is not hard to imagine that, under the Final Rule, an industrious older teenage boy may simply identify as a female to gain access to the girls’ showers, dressing rooms, or locker rooms so that he can observe his female peers disrobe and shower.” The fact that this judge can imagine it does not mean that it happens. It is also easy to imagine this “industrious older teenage boy” being teased mercilessly by other teenagers, both boys and girls. For continuing to cite an example which never happens, and for not figuring out why it does not happen, Judge John Broomes gets a Twit Award. WILB News has this story.

WyoFile reports that the ban on transgender athletes in Wyoming has not yet been challenged in court. This is fairly easily explained: there is trouble finding a transgender student who would have played sports if not for this ban. For rushing to pass a law which prevents something that was not happening and which was not about to happen, the Wyoming GOP gets a Twit Award.

LGBTQ Nation reports that some conservatives are worried that the Republican party platform won’t be anti-LGBTQ enough. Perhaps they should worry that the Republican party won’t have a platform. They did not make one in 2020, instead copying their platform from 2016. In 2016, while Donald Trump was the choice as candidate for President, fans of Ted Cruz wrote the platform, while the Trump campaign only asked to remove a plank which opposed Vladimir Putin. For worrying about hiding a controversial plank in a document which may never exist, these Republicans get a Twit Award.

Donald Trump Jr. took to X to complain, “Beryl? Even our Hurricanes are gender non-binary now.” First off, Beryl is a name that is not a common name, but it is decidedly more often given to girls than to boys. Secondly, a hurricane is a natural meteorological phenomena, not a gendered being. For complaining that a non-gender-specific thing is given a gender-neutral name, and for using a gender-specific name as an example of a non-binary name, Donald Trump Jr. gets a Twit Award. LGBTQ Nation has this story.

David Tennant has been gaining a reputation as a supporter of trans rights. J.K. Rowling is an opponent of trans rights. In heated remarks on social media, J.K. Rowling referred to Mr. Tennant as, “a member of the Gender Taliban.” There is no comparison between Mr. Tennant’s defence of trans rights and the Taliban’s cruel and vicious suppression of women, trans people and intellectuals in Afghanistan.  J.K. Rowling gets yet another Twit Award. This story comes from them.
