As we mentioned in the news, Florida state Senator Blaise Ingoglia has introduced a “Reverse Woke Act,” which would require companies which pay for gender transitions to also pay for a gender detransition, even if the employee has subsequently left the company. He thinks that this will cause companies to stop covering gender transitions, but only 2.5% of those who underwent a medical transition later detransitioned, in the most recent survey. Moreover, the cost of detransitioning is sometimes much less than the cost of transitioning. For not understanding how things work, and for appealing to only voters who are as misinformed as he is, Florida state Senator Blaise Ingoglia gets a Twit Award. LGBTQ Nation has this story.

Governor Lee (R) when he was young and pretty.

We also mentioned in the news that Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed into law the state’s bill to shield minors from drag performers. A picture this week came out which appears to show Governor Lee, in in high school appearing in a drag. (You can find that story in The Advocate.) Texas state Representative Nate Schatzline, who submitted his state’s bill against children seeing drag, also did drag in the past. (The Advocate has this story.) They know that not all drag performances are unsuitable for children, yet they attempt to outlaw all. For hypocrisy, these people get a Twit Award.

In the news, we also mentioned the protests over Hershey’s use of a transgender woman in an ad celebrating International Women’s Day. We noted that several conservatives have voiced their opposition to the ad. The Daily Wire has gone so far as to create its own alternative candy bar, called “Jeremy’s Chocolate,” named for one of the far-right site’s co-founders. While Hershey’s will be easy to find, finding Jeremy’s Chocolate will not be as easy. For creating a solution which is difficult to obtain and likely will matter little to the company being protested, and for calling extra attention to the item that has them upset, The Daily Wire gets a Twit Award.

Missouri state Representative Ann Kelley promoted her version of a “Don’t Say Gay” bill by saying, “We must keep our personal beliefs out of the classroom.” As The Advocate points out, the bill is all about pushing her personal beliefs, and those of her followers. For hypocrisy, and for not acknowledging that she is doing what she objects to, Missouri state Representative Ann Kelley gets a Twit Award.

It’s hard to believe that this would come up again in 2023, but apparently, the “Michelle Obama Is Transgender” nonsense is still going around. Techarp shows that some of the pictures being used to support this have clearly been faked. For bringing up a subject which has long been debunked, and for making a fuss about something that should be no concern of anyone but the people involved, anyone who has ever spread this silly falsehood gets a Twit Award.
