Transgender Fashion Models

Valentina Sampaio was born in a fishing village in Aquiraz, Ceará, which is in Northeastern Brazil. Her mother is a schoolteacher and her father is a fisherman. She was diagnosed as transgender at the age of 8 but did not socially transition till 12. In 2014, a clothing company fired Sampaio from her first modeling job because she is transgender. Despite the setback she went on to model for many designers and cosmetic companies.
