A three-judge panel of the Appeals Court dismissed the case of parents who sued their Maryland school district over its policy for transgender students. The judges felt that the parents did not demonstrate that the policy harmed their child. The Advocate has this story.
The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the stay on Idaho’s ban on transgender athletes. This story comes from Reuters.
A judge in Kansas has granted a motion for five more transgender people to join a lawsuit which seeks to overturn the law forbidding the updating of gender markers on birth certificates. This story comes from KSNT-TV.

The Texas Tribune reports that the lawsuit which attempts to overturn that state’s ban on gender-affirming medicine for minors will center on whether or not the treatments cause long-term harm to the patients.
The new board of trustees of The New College, appointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, have begun the process of shutting down the school’s gender studies program. It was one of the most popular programs at the New College, according to a story in Them.
New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu signed into law a bill which will outlaw the “LGBTQ+ Panic” defense. The Advocate has this story.
Sales at Target were lower in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the same quarter of 2022. This has not happened in any quarter in the last six years, according to Them. Target was boycotted for its support of Pride.
Hari Nef
Hari Nef is appearing in Bad Things, a made-for-streaming movie featuring a plot that revolves around a couple and their ex-partners going to a snowbound hotel which one of them inherited. The movie takes on elements of horror, including ghosts, according to Them.
A report by the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative finds that 4/5 of all transgender characters in the top 100 films at the box office last year were in the film Bros. Out.com has this story.

The British Government has introduced a new policy, whereby they will not issue permits for buildings with gender-neutral restrooms. They will allow restrooms with a single toilet and a sink for washing up, but restrooms for multiple users must be labeled for males or females. PinkNews has this story.

Milana Petrova has been arrested and convicted, and possibly beaten, for blogging about her transition. She violated Russia’s law against spreading “LGBTQ+ propaganda.” This story comes from LGBTQ Nation.
A new report by The Human Rights Campaign says that almost 80% of LGBTQ+ individuals in the U.S. are afraid for their personal safety in the current political environment. This data comes from the 17th Annual LGBTQ+ Community Survey. Other findings from the study include the fact that almost half of LGBTQ+ youth feel unsafe in school (story in Them and the fact that most LGBTQ+ people are hopeful despite the bullying and stress (story in LGBTQ Nation).
Also from that same Human Rights Campaign report, we learn that transgender people want to get out of Florida. Sadly, the people behind the anti-transgender laws would say that proves the laws are working. LGBTQ Nation has this story.
Zaya Wade
Zaya Wade is in an advertising campaign for Puma, according to Out.com.
The It Gets Better Project has left X, formerly known as Twitter. “Unfortunately, Twitter/X is no longer a space where we can safely and effectively do this work, so we’re pausing all future content on the platform,” It Gets Better wrote in announcing its departure. “It’s gotten very TERF-y and anti-trans,” said Ross von Metzke, senior director of communications and public relations, told The Advocate.
Aydian Dowling introduced TRACE, a social media app for transgender people who are transitioning. He talked with LGBTQ Nation about it.
