From the Desk of Alexis Dee
Hello to all my TGForum family. Hope everyone is enjoying the great summer weather. Here in North Carolina it has been great. Here is an update on Southern Comfort 2013 Blazing New Trails.
September 4-8, 2013 Crowne Plaza @ Ravinia, Atlanta Georgia
This year’s conference looks to be one of the best ever!
Many of the best doctors in the world are giving one or more presentation on all types of surgeries related to the TG community. They will be doing free consultations throughout the week. So if you are looking for that “special” doctor — you do not have to look much further than SCC, and the great thing is that they are all in one place.
If you are looking for help with your voice, Kathe Perez, from Exceptional Voice will be presenting two seminars to help the gals sound and speak better, and not to be forgotten she will also host a seminar for the guys.
There will be presentations on the all-important art of make-up and wig care. Etiquette and dancing will also be represented.
This year we have a special new programming event. SCC will present” Out and Equal Friday” at Southern Comfort. On the 6th of September O&E will be hosting various programming throughout the day. They have enlisted Meghan Stabler for their keynote speaker at luncheon on Friday.
Meghan is a business executive, a transsexual woman, a transgender advocate, national LGBT activist and political consultant.
By day, she is an Advisor (VP) at CA Technologies, a multi-billion dollar IT management software and solutions company. In her spare time, she is a member of the Board of Directors for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), and a member of HRC’s Business Council focusing on LGBT workplace issues, policy and practices.
We at SCC are looking forward to this collaboration with O&E and hope it is the first of many to come.
In addition to all this great programing, we have not forgotten the entertainment. There will be Karaoke, Movie Night, Casino Night on Friday, various outing throughout the conference and the formal dinner Saturday night followed by our “Progressive Prom.” Have a chance to attend the prom that you may have missed. Music from all the decades, from the ’40s to the present will be played by the fabulous DJ Christy.
This is just as taste of what will be going on at SCC. For all the details or to register for the conference go to the conference website.
I would also be happy to answer any questions regarding SCC drop me a note at [email protected] . Stay tuned to TGForum for more SCC updates!
Hope to see you there!
