I started crossdressing and going out publicly in 1988. I joined the Renaissance group in the Philadelphia area that year and later became chapter leader for two years in the '90s.
I always enjoyed writing and wrote for the Renaissance newsletter and magazine throughout my membership years. I've been writing for TGForum for several years now. I also contributed items to LadyLike magazine and other TG publications before the advent of the internet.
My hobby-within-a-hobby is singing live as my alter-ego Dina Sinatra and I have had the opportunity to do that with several accommodating performers and in a number of venues over the years since the mid-1990s.
In the Diner column items here, I try to relate crossdressing or transgender themes (and my own pet peeves and fetishes) to the larger world -- and vice versa.
In these times when many dining spots are closed due to the pandemic it’s good to know that, since it’s a virtual establishment, Dina’s Diner is always open and ready to give you first class treatment. Today Chef Dina, who is also server, and hostess, has a special treat. She has roasted a complete consideration of just what crossdressers are doing for fun while distancing. Then she prepared a side dish of a woman wrestler who does dentistry. Simmering on the range is a segment on doctors in bikinis, and then Dina has a couple of deserts, one featuring the always tasty short shorts, and the other inspired by a dentist’s advertisement. Dina’s Diner is always sure to satisfy.

Sometimes Dina’s Diner doesn’t have enough ingredients on hand to do any fancy entrees. On those days when things are just too busy to order more supplies Dina Amberle goes through the walk in freezer and pulls out a bit of this and some of that and pretty soon she’s got a hearty slumgullion stew simmering on the stove. Just the right thing to hit the spot. In today’s stew you will notice hints of going for realness in black trans women’s hair.
