Out & About — Parliament House, Orlando, Fla.

The girls and I were Out & About again on Friday, December 7 for a Happy Hour/Sexy Secretary Themed get together. This time, I planned to do something different with my look so I called my friend Josett from Trading Faces Orlando to arrange a makeover. I’ve known her for several years and she has helped me out considerably with my look and feminine image. I brought several wigs and outfits and an image of what I wanted and she worked her makeup magic on me while providing expert opinions on what I should be wearing to compliment the makeup.

After working her magic on me we took some wonderful pix and then it was time to be off for the party at Parliament House. We were meeting at 6 however I got stuck in horrible Orlando traffic and didn’t make it there til almost 7.

Walking up, I was really surprised by the level of holiday spirit the resort had. There were decorations everywhere and the courtyard area was very festive, they really did a good job. By the time I got there, a dozen girls had already arrived and had gathered in the Piano Bar for Karaoke. We hung around the Piano Bar with Joel the bartender until nine when the rest of the bars opened then we moved between the Video Bar and the courtyard (of course to take some pix). Some of the girls grabbed a bite to eat at the restaurant while I made my rounds to all the staff I know to say “Hi,” I’ve been going there for years and know most of them.

We went to the 10 p.m. drag show hosted by the always funny and beautiful Darcel Stevens. The girls were fabulous, Sassy, Shantell and Jazelle worked the stage with grace and style.

After the show we went back to the video bar for more drinks from the cute bartender Rafael. For a meetup that was supposed to end at nine, most of the girls stayed well into the night. Finally, around 1 am it was time to call it a night, my feet were done. It was a great time, we had over 20 girls and supporters attend and I couldn’t have been happier with the way things turned out. So my advice if you’re visiting Central Florida/Orlando, go to Parliament House. The complex is huge with 6 or 7 bars, a huge dance floor, great staff and a ton of regular activities. Forget what you’ve heard and experience it for yourself. Either go early or valet your car because part of there parking lot is dirt and that doesn’t mix well with heels. Also, check out their website for their theme nights, they are constantly doing something and put a lot of effort into their parties.
