Have we got content? Don’t Ask!
You know we do. Every Monday we bring you the finest transgender news, information and opinion that we can gather. It’s the TGForum Monday Edition and it’s ready for you right now.
We begin with The Week In Transgenderism, our distillation of all the transgender news floating around on the Web. We condense, introduce and provide the links so you can keep up with what’s happening in your world. From the collaboration between Ke$ha and Alice Cooper to the unsolved murder of the mother of the House of Blahnik we’ve got it all. Learn about the extension of “honor killing” to TGs by the proud men of Turkey. (Or is that the rotten *%*$@*s of Turkey?) Find out about the efforts of the Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition. Meet Flame Monroe, a single dad and a glamorous drag queen comic. There’s all that and more in This Week In Transgenderism. Don’t miss your TWIT!
Sophie Lynne is with us today and she has had a close encounter with mortality. While she was busy planning her Halloween adventures for the month she got word that a friend had suddenly passed away. The unexpected death of her friend, who did not know about Sophie, has caused her to leave frivolous thoughts behind and enter a state of mind that she calls Somber.
On a happier note Pamela DeGroff joins us today with an interview with a fascinating actor, singer, and performer — Joey Arias. Arias has been in the movies, in rock bands, has sung backup for David Bowie on Saturday Night Live, performed in a Cirque de Soleil production in Las Vegas and a lot more. To find out about everything Arias has done you’ll just have to read TVocalizers. Pamela rounds out the column with some music news and CD reviews. Don’t forget TVocalizers.
The transgender community of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania held Philly Trans March this past Saturday. I attended the event and took some photos. To see what the transgender folks in Philly look like when they’re celebrating transgender identities and advocating for TG rights check out Philly Trans March
The amazing David de Alba has shared some photos from his Las Vegas show last month. And he has set up a YouTube channel with clips of songs from his show. We share the photos and one of the videos here as David de Alba at The Onyx. There’s link to David’s YouTube channel in the piece so you can see 9 songs from the show.
That’s our selection of the finest TG content for this Monday. Enjoy, and if it so moves you click that donate button and make a contribution toward maintaining TGForum for young TGs of the future.
