WAW! What A Weekend!

We began Friday night at Club Ripple in Long Beach. A gay and lesbian nightclub on the beach. I met up there with several of my (GG) girlfriends. This club has something for everyone. My lovely and very talented friend Tana serves up Karaoke all night on the main floor. Outside, in back, is a smoker’s paradise, and another bar. The attached grill serves free (donations accepted) tacos all night. Yes, you can even get them to go!

As you make your way along the crowded booths to the upstairs, the first thing you notice is a dazzling light show. Dancers are everywhere! Including some of their own gorgeous, talented, dancers on lighted stages. Dancing is mostly grinding — no talent required on this night. This night in at Club Ripples is called Unzipped. It’s a lesbian event but the crowd is such a mix. However, on this night I was one of only about 4 TGirls in the club. Equal number of guys and girls I would guess along with several couples looking for a third. Yes, something for everyone!

Saturday Night at The Executive Suite Nightclub is the place. Also a lesbian event and very special night for the locals, including this one! I love this place! It has free parking which I’m a huge fan of, ripped girly dancers, and great drink prices. The main floor was lively when I arrived. There were small crowds around the pool tables laughing and dancing to the music video playing on the big screen.

This place has the feel of your local bar with everyone chatting each other up. This is one of those places I always feel like I belong. On this night I was the only TGirl in the house, better for me! There was a time when this would have freaked me out.

emily06I gave hugs to the owners, Lenny and Robert and we chatted for a while. The main floor was getting crowded and it was time for the upstairs to open for dancing. The lower level has a dressing room for the dancers and TGirls. On Wednesday night I host a TGirl event here called The Powder Room. Girls sometimes get make-overs here and get dressed before the night kicks off. We have comedy and karaoke. It’s so much fun!

emily04As you continue up the lighted circle staircase you notice the huge bar and hundreds of party goers. Dancing in the booths, the aisle, and yes even on the dance floor! I needed to powder my nose and found myself in a bathroom pic with three beautiful Asian girls.

emily03Then we danced. The music is Techno, quick tempo, high energy. It’s impossible to stop dancing! The dancers perched on the lighted stages swung on the poles and retrieved singles from awaiting customers. The crowd  that night varied in age from 21 to 65. The LGBT community was all there including some of their straight friends, and yes more couples. I noticed a few texting, and  some heavy petting in one of the booths next to the dance floor. The bartenders  at The Executive Suite Nightclub are some of the best in the area. They’re fast and the drinks are perfect. As the night winds down you have to pick up some hot wings and fries outside. There is no way you can walk by this vendor without giving in, no matter what’s on your mind or who you’re with. So when people ask me my fave club — this is it. Try it when you get here. Until next time, don’t forget to powder your nose!
