TWIT Awards – Nov 28, 2024

As we mentioned in the news, U.S. Representative Naancy Maace is pushing for a rule that restroom use in the U.S. Capitol will be by “biological sex.” She has admitted that this is “absolutely” about Representative-elect Sarah McBride. Representative Mace objected to an interviewer calling Representative-elect McBride a woman, saying, “She’s not a woman! It’s a man!” She also talked of the representative-elect’s genitalia, and insisted that if Representative-elect McBride is allowed into the ladies’ room, she would “assault” Representative Mace. According to Erin Reed, she also said, “It is offensive that a man in a skirt could ever think [she’s] my equal, that [her] challenges are the same as mine.” For reacting out of a fear of a very unlikely act, for expressing superiority because of something that she did nothing to earn, and for deliberately insulting the integrity of another member of Congress, Representative Nancy Mace gets a TWIT. Representative Nancy Mace also has taken to selling merchandise off her bathroom ban. The Hill reports that she is selling t-shirts for $35 each. For turning her prejudice into financial gain, Nancy Mace gets another TWIT.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has been very vocal in her support of the bathroom ban in the Capitol. She refers to transgender women as “biological men,” and threatened to “fight” any “man” who she found in a ladies’ room in the Capitol. For presuming that she can always tell the chromosomes of an individual without testing, and for resorting to physical violence as though that proves her superior, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene getss a TWIT She also gets laughted at, since her threat to “fight” a transgender woman whom she finds in the restroom proves how silly the logic behind her ban on transgender athletes is. After all, according to her, transgender athletes have a natural advantage in athletics from being a “man,” but now, she thinks that she can win a fight against a transgender woman.

Texas has opened the period for prefiling legislation, for the session to begin on February 2. Winners of the 2024 election have pre-filed 32 bills which would limit the rights of transgender people. For presuming that a the current anti-transgender legislation is not enough, and for attempting to build your reputation by treating someone else as a lesser class of citizen, the sponsors of these bills get a TWIT. Greg Gutfeld, an alleged comedian and a regular contributor on Fox News, reacted to the news that John Krasinski was named as People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” with the line, “it’s great that People has dominated–or announced–that a trans male can be the sexiest one alive.” The line did not come out as well-written, but that happens sometimes when you are dealing with live television. However, when the joke failed to get a laugh, he kept right on with the premise. He said, “Krasinski never talks about it, but he’s trans. You know that?” For thinking that being transgender is funny, and for going on with a joke that is clearly bombing, Greg Gutfeld gets a TWIT. Out.com has this story.
