For me gender dysphoria is and has been a series of episodes where I suddenly have a strong urge creep in from somewhere deep inside me awakening a yearning to be her. A yearning that I’ve been aware of since I was a very young child.
These episodes can occur 2 or 3 times a year and last for about a month interfering with my ordinary life until I realize I have to stop.
Gradually I came to the realization that it is simply part of who I am. She never goes away.
