Television SetIn the 21st century the so called “reality show” has become the norm on television. Any situation that can be hammered into a television format ends up on the air. Everything from talent competitions like American Idol to who’s gonna be the next Pussycat Doll have been turned into television programming. (How about a show where a crazed crew of TGs produce an online magazine every week? Nah, no one would believe that.)

Big Brother, Hell’s Kitchen, Survivor, The Great Race—all of them take just plain folks and pit them against one another to mine the ratings gold. Shows like The Bachelor and the Bachelorette have even made finding one’s true love into nationwide public romance with all the “real” on screen action calculated to keep the ratings high. How can they top that?

Easy. You mix The Bachelorette concept with a large dose of trans—and you have the latest thing that’s coming to a television screen in your home sometime soon. This is not your mother’s Dating Game. (Does anyone remember that show?) The so far nameless show will feature one “hot” TG woman who is looking for a man to spend her life with. There will be a number of men from all walks of life who compete for her affections.

The casting director, Danya Berman, told TGF in a phone conversation that she realizes it’s going to be hard to find men who want to woo a transgendered woman on national television. Duh. But TGF told her we would help out after she described the show and told us that her company produced the Transgeneration series on The Sundance Channel that followed college age TGs through their day to day lives.

Here’s what Ms. Berman had to say about the new series:
“We are seeking men (25 and up) from all walks of life: all ethnicity’s, from those experienced in dating TGs, to those who are open to a first time experience. The only requirement is that you are sincere and come to the experience with an open heart. This is a fun, upbeat and light hearted show with a HOT (and nice! and kind! and smart!) TG woman in the center of it.”

Ms. Berman wouldn’t reveal who the TG woman is but we were led to believe that she is somewhat of a known personality and will attract some attention to the show. Berman went on to say, “The series will offer a glimpse into the variety of types of men—from all walks of life—who, despite their differences, share a progressive outlook on gender, sex and love. Our aim is for this show to garner the kind of thoughtful attention and positive press and publicity that this often misrepresented community deserves.”

So, if you’re a brave, audacious man looking for a TG to love, who is willing to appear on national television you should email Danya Berman. May the best man win.
