Happy Day After Father’s Day
It’s that time again, time for the content dumper to add loads of new content to TGForum! We do it every Monday and just because it was Father’s Day yesterday we didn’t stop working. I took a brief break to call dad and ask him if he got the high heels I sent as a Father’s Day gift. (Like father like son, uh, daughter.) So I hope everyone else had as good a day as my dad in those new Manolo Blahniks. He doesn’t need to know I got them on sale at Nordstrom Rack.
We begin with our condensation of all the TG news there is, The Week In Transgenderism. We scour the Web and dig up every bit of TG news that happened last week. We clean it, condense it, filter out the impurities and bottle it just for you. This week we’ve got the story of the creation of transgender goats, more on the top TG models, the trend toward men walking and running in high heels for charity and the trend for Slut Walks to protest, well, something. I was too distracted by their outfits to learn what the protest was. There’s a whole lot more and some real TWITS. Don’t miss TWIT!
Sophie Lynne joins us this week with her column on Father’s Day. Miss Sophie is a dad and she has a dad which gives her all the credentials she needs to write about transgenderism and dads. Check it out and be sure to make comments so she can hear how you feel about what it’s like being a TG dad. Don’t skip Father’s Day?
Pamela DeGroff brings us Transvocalizers this week with featured performer Aderet. Aderet is the Israeli transsexual singer who is a big seller in Europe. She has a new single out called Extraordinaire and she sang it in French. Si bon! Pamela also gives us some other news items from the world of music including info on Jesse and The Toy Boys, Storm Miguel Florez and Jennifer Latham. For all the music news, and Aderet, be sure to read Transvocalizers.
The United Nations Human Rights Council has passed a resolution affirming LGBT rights around the world. The information is here in a press release from NCTE.
Sometime ago we mentioned that GLSEN was doing a survey how LGBTQ youth are treated in school. If you attended high school or middle school during the 2010 – 11 school year GLSEN wants you to take their survey on how you were treated. If you weren’t in school don’t go and take the survey. If you were a TG kid who was in the closet try to tell them how being in the closet about your nature affected your time in school. The survey is available here.
There are a couple of other tidbits tucked into this Monday’s New Content, and don’t forget to get your TGFriends Profile set up and start TGFriending people! Enjoy!
