Happy last day of February! And welcome to the TGForum Monday Edition!

Did anyone notice James Franco in a red gown and blond wig channeling Marilyn Monroe on the Academy Awards last night? Not the height of feminine grace but a game try. Anne Hathaway did a better job in her tuxedo. (And looked fabulous in all her gowns!)  I guess we should have expected Franco might show up on stage in drag after he did that cover for Candy magazine. Take a look at his Marilyn look here.

But I digress. It’s time for the Monday Edition and the nominees are:

The Ladyboys

Miss Ronnie Rho’s assemblage of TG news from around the world, The Week In Transgenderism, is nominated in the Community News category. It’s a brilliant story featuring crossdressers, TGirls, transsexuals and more, all locked in a struggle of epic proportions. Starring John Waters, Craig Ferguson, former Congressman Chris Lee, Lisa Ling, Andrej Pejic and a supporting cast of hundreds of ladyboys, this is one feature you don’t want to miss. We call it TWIT.

Sophie Lynne has been nominated in the Opinion category and the Body and Soul category this week for her stirring offering, T: A Name I Call Myself. A passionate tale of self discovery and division and prejudice within a sub culture, Sophie’s column was a cinch to be nominated in both categories. Don’t miss T: A Name I Call Myself.

Foxxjazell

In the Musical category the nominee is Miss Pamela DeGroff’s Transvocalizers column featuring her interview with hip hop/hip pop TG recording artist Foxxjazell. She’s just dropped a new mp3 album and Pamela talks with her about her career, the prejudice and discrimination she faces in the hip hop world, and a lot more. There’s even a performance video embedded in the column. This one is a strong contender in the Musical category and is sure to go home with an award. Don’t miss Transvocalizers.

That’s it for the awards today. I mean, that’s it for the TGForum Monday Edition. Watching the Oscars can definitely make you start thinking in Hollywood terms. Have your people call my people. We’ll do lunch.
